A FREE 6 week course for family members, partners and friends of
individuals living with mental illness. It is a designated evidenced-based
program that is taught by NAMI-trained family members who have been
there, and includes presentations, discussion and interactive exercises.
In the program, you’ll learn about:
• How to manage crises, solve problems and communicate effectively;
• Self care and managing your stress;
• Developing the confidence and stamina to provide support with
compassion;
• Finding and using local supports and services;
• Mental health conditions and how they affect the brain;
• Treatment options and therapies, medications and side effects;
• Impact of mental illness on the entire family.
WHEN: Saturday’s on May 11th, 18th, 25th; June 1st, 8th and 15th 2019
