CORVALLIS — The West Albany High girls water polo team wrapped up the season with a tough 8-6 loss to Sam Barlow to finish fourth at the 6A state tournament on Saturday at Osborn Aquatic Center.

Kylee Crofcheck had three goals and Sabrina Grato, Bailey Dickerson and Taylor Kelley each added a goal for the Bulldogs, who finish 23-8.

Grato had a strong defensive game, coming up with five steals in the first half.

The game was tied at 6-6 heading to the fourth quarter.

Goalie Erica Rietmann had 10 blocks for West.

The West boys finished the season with a thrilling 11-10 win over Southridge to place fifth at the 6A tournament.

Kieran Van Horsen had the game-winner and the Bulldogs got the last of their 19 steals to seal the game before running out the clock.

Van Horsen led the Bulldogs with four goals while Eric Formiller added three. Colby Huddleston has two and Braxton Reece and Jaden Humpherys had the other goals.
