JUNCTION CITY — The East Linn Christian boys and girls won the Junction City Invitational track and field meet on Saturday.
The East Linn boys edged host Junction City, 722-711.5, while the girls also defeated JC 666.5-616.
Monroe’s girls were third with 543.5 points in the nine-team field while the Dragons boys were sixth (305).
East Linn’s Christian Strawn won the boys 800 (2:13.52), Jedaiah Wasson the 3,000 (9:34.29) and Nick Vandehey the 110 hurdles (17.27).
Vandehey and Ben Johnson tied for first in the high jump at 5 feet, 6 inches with Ethan Slayden third at 5-4.
Matthew Reardon was first in the pole vault (11-0) and Vandehey second (10-0).
Monroe’s Christian Garcia was first in the shot put (47-6) and Zach Young first in the long jump (21-1).
On the girls side, East Linn’s Cori Sanders won the discus (117-6½) and Dahlia Rickman the triple jump (31-10).
Monroe’s Kailey Martin won the 100 hurdles (17.49) and long jump (16-1½); Brook Boyer-Capps (33-10), Ashley Sutton (33-1) and Peyton Green (32-9) went 1-2-3 in the shot put; and Maddie O’Hare won the high jump (4-8).
