The West Albany girls basketball team wrapped up the regular season with a big 66-45 Greater Valley Conference win against West Salem.

The Bulldogs lost the first meeting 64-60.

WAHS winds up at 12-11 overall, 8-7 in conference.


West Albany could not keep pace in a 88-58 Greater Valley Conference loss to West Salem.

The Bulldogs (11-13, 6-10) were looking to finish the regular season on a three-game win streak but were unable to get the offense going against the Titans.

WAHS coach Derek Duman said the Bulldogs battled back after a fast start by the Titans, but a tough call switched momentum and the Bulldogs never recovered.

"It kind of snowballed on us and got away from us," Duman said.

Oreon Courtney scored 20 points and Jalen Handy added 12 for the Bulldogs, who are waiting for word on their state 6A play-in opponent.
