HARRISBURG — Brandon Zeiher (145), Adam Stratemeyer (160) and Jacob Lowther (285) took home individual titles in their respective weight classes to help lead the Scio High wrestling team to the 3A Special District 2 team title on Saturday.

Scio finished with 280.5 points while Jefferson (182) was third, Harrisburg (179) fourth and Santiam Christian (167) fifth.

Taking second for the Loggers were Jacob Mask (132), Daniel Simmons (152) and Dru Cook (170), while Hunter Robison (126), Bryce West (132) and Austin Ellis (195) were third and qualified to the 3A state meet on Feb. 16-17.

For Jefferson, Conner Fairchild was the lone district titlist, placing first at 138. Rene Flores (113), Cody Adams (182), Riley Davis (195) and Skyler Williams (220) took home second and Bradley Browser (120), Kyll Murray (170) and Mogin Thorpe (285) were third to advance to state.

Harrisburg had five individual winners as Russell Talmadge (106), Chance Hendrickson (120), Chandler Straus (152), Leitham Briggs (170) and Dax Bennett (182) all won titles. Riley Suttles was second at 126 and Mason Rouillard third at 160 to reach the state tournament.

Santiam Christian had one champion as Caleb Beck won the 195 class. Taking second for SC were Logan Beem (120), Daniel Hudson (160) and Aaron Schafer (285), while Luke Jannsen (138) and Jason Manzi (145) were third.

2A Special District 1

MONROE — Monroe placed second at the 2A Special District 1 tournament, edging Neah-Kah-Nie by eight points.

Vernonia ran away with the title with 305 points; Monroe had 148.

Louden Ballard took home a title at 126 pounds while Kai Garber (152), Zack Esplin (170) and Cody Sherman (220) all placed second to advance to the state tournament.

2A Special District 3

GLENDALE — Central Linn was second in the 2A Special District 3 meet, finishing with 201 points. Culver cruised to the title with 417.

Taking home individual titles for the Cobras were Hunter McIrvin (113), Mike Day (138), Mason Sloan (170) and Justin Malone (285).

Finishing second and advancing to the state tournament were Caleb Day (138), Tanner Reister (182) and Jimmy North (220).

Boys basketball

The Bulldogs could not keep pace with an athletic West Linn team in an 85-61 nonconference loss.

West Albany (9-10) coach Derek Duman said West Linn was able to attack the basket and score or draw fouls, going to the line 27 times.

"They were able to get to the rim and make open shots," Duman said. "We got some good looks but just didn't capitalize enough."

Oreon Courtney led West Albany with 20 points and Nick Renyer added 10.

The Bulldogs travel to McMinnville on Tuesday.

Jefferson 73, Gervais 57

JEFFERSON — Diego Rodriguez's 17 points led Jefferson to a win against visiting Gervais in a PacWest Conference game.

Jayden Eriksen added 15, Leon Romo Jr. 14 and Cody Braun 13 for the Lions, who won their third straight and eighth of their last nine.

Jefferson broke a halftime tie with a 15-point edge in the third quarter.

Finishing up the regular season Tuesday, Jefferson (14-9, 8-3) plays at Salem Academy to decide the second seed in the PacWest playoffs.

Monroe 83, Bonanza 59

BONANZA — The Dragons won their 13th straight with the road Mountain View Conference victory.

Hayden O’Hare led a balanced attack with 21 points and nine rebounds, Brian Goracke added 16 points and seven rebounds, Eric Teran chipped in 12 and Zach Young 11 for the Dragons.

Monroe (18-4, 11-0) is at Oakland on Tuesday.

Sutherlin 47, Sweet Home 44

SUTHERLIN — The Huskies dropped to 6-13 overall and 10-5 in the Sky-Em League with the road loss. Sweet Home hosts Sisters on Tuesday.

Blanchet 59, Scio 31

SALEM — The Loggers fell on the road in PacWest play. Scio (6-16, 30-8) wraps up the regular season by hosting Chemawa on Thursday.

Girls basketball

JEFFERSON — Alyssa Guzman scored 15 points and had the game-winning free throw to help the Jefferson High girls basketball team earn a 40-39 PacWest Conference home win.

The Lions had held the lead most of the game Before Gervais rallied to take a late lead.

Down three, Cassie Aguilar hit a bucket to get it to one before the Lions got a stop and Guzman hit the free throw for the win.

Aguilar finished with nine points, eight rebounds, three assists and three steals for the Lions (15-8, 5-6), who play at Salem Academy on Tuesday.

Monroe 69, Bonanza 36

BONANZA — Kaylee Martin had 20 points, Kyndal Martin 15 and Cameron Knaggs 12 to help lead the Dragons to the Mountain View Conference road win.

The Dragons (20-2, 11-0) trailed 14-9 before breaking the game open.

Monroe is at Oakland on Tuesday.

SALEM — The Loggers dropped their fifth straight to fall to 3-18 overall and 1-11 in PacWest play. Scio is at Sheridan on Tuesday.

Sutherlin 49, Sweet Home 21

SUTHERLIN — The Huskies dropped the Sky-Em League road game to fall to 1-18 overall and 0-6 in league play. Sweet Home hosts Sisters on Tuesday.
