ADAIR VILLAGE — Santiam Christian used some tough defense in the fourth to hold off Horizon Christian for a 44-41 West Valley League win on Wednesday.
The game stayed close throughout. SC held a 31-30 lead at the end of the third and then clamped down in the fourth.
"We couldn't make anything in that third quarter," SC coach Dennis McLain said. "In the fourth we played good defense and were able to limit them to one shot."
The Eagles (12-1, 4-0) did not allow a good look at the end of the game and wound up with the win.
Zach Baugher had 29 points and 10 rebounds for SC. The Eagles travel to Sheridan on Friday.
Lowell 67, Central Linn 61
LOWELL — The Cobras could not overcome Lowell in the nonconference road loss.
Central Linn fell to 1-11 overall.
The Cobras play host to Regis on Friday.
Central Linn 49, Lowell 25
LOWELL — The Cobras rolled to the nonconference road win.
Central Linn improved to 8-5 overall with the victory.
The Cobras were able to use a suffocating man-to-man defense to hold Lowell at bay.
"They've got kind of a small-sized court here, so we really took advantage of that," Central Linn coach Marcus Campbell said.
Morgan Robb and Sarah Conner both had 12 points and six rebounds.
The Cobras will take on Regis at home in a Tri-River Conference game on Friday.
SWEET HOME — The Sweet Home wrestling team rolled to a 66-15 dual meet win against Elmira.
The Huskies had nine wins by fall en route to the win.
West Albany 54, McMinnville 21
McMINNVILLE — The Bulldogs took the road win over McMinnville.
West Albany won eight matches by fall.
