Katie Mayhue exploded for 42 points and the South Albany girls basketball team crushed Roseburg 70-49 on Thursday.
The Rebels (4-6) got contributions from several other players, with Abby Sadowsky and Victoria Vargas scoring eight points apiece.
The Indians (6-5) were led by Hannah Bartlett with 17 points and Samie Bergmann with 14.
South Albany coach Trever Ball said the Rebels played hard and worked together as a team.
The game featured 66 free-throw attempts.
The Rebels open Mid-Willamette Conference play when they travel to Woodburn on Tuesday.
Central Linn 42, Santiam 28
The Central Linn High girls basketball team defeated Santiam 42-28 in a Tri-River Conference matchup on Thursday.
The Cobras (6-4, 1-1) were led by Jessica Neal with 13 points, while Sydney Tindall contributed six points and eight rebounds.
McKenzie Dodge and Maddy White paced the Wolverines (9-5, 1-1) with nine points apiece.
The Cobras will be in action again Friday when they travel to Kennedy for another league game.
