JEFFERSON — Danny Aguilar hit a tie-breaking 3-pointer in the final 20 seconds to power Jefferson High School to a 63-60 overtime win over Colton on Tuesday in a PacWest Conference game at JHS.

Regulation ended 52-52 as the teams were tied at every quarter stop. Diego Rodriguez led the Lions with 20 points; Leon Romo Jr. added 14 and Aguilar had 14.

The Lions (11-8, 5-2) have now won five games in a row. They travel to Blanchet Catholic on Friday.

Corvallis 61, Lebanon 46

Corvallis topped Lebanon in a Mid-Willamette Conference game at CHS.

The Warriors (2-13, 1-4) play at Crescent Valley on Friday in another MWC game.

Sprague 76, West Albany 53

SALEM — West Albany couldn't slow down Sprague's high-powered offense as the Bulldogs dropped their second straight contest. 

The Bulldogs (8-8, 3-6) host North Salem on Tuesday.

Amity 80, Santiam Christian 76

AMITY— After starting its season red-hot, Santiam Christian now finds itself in the midst of a two-game losing streak by way of a narrow, high-scoring loss to Amity. 

The Eagles (14-2, 6-3) travel to Willamina on Friday. 

Cottage Grove 72, Sweet Home 48

SWEET HOME —Cottage Grove topped the Huskies in a Sky-Em League game. Sweet Home (6-11, 1-3) resumes league play at Junction City on Friday.

Santiam 43, Central Linn 36

HALSEY — Santiam topped the Cobras in a Tri-River Conference game. Central Linn (2-15, 0-7) hosts Reedsport on Wednesday in a nonleague game.

Girls basketball

Katie Mayhue scored 21 points for South Albany in a 67-34 loss to Silverton in a Mid-Willamette Conference game at SAHS.

The Rebels (5-10, 1-5) resume MWC action at Dallas on Friday.

Lebanon 43, Corvallis 41

LEBANON — The Warriors survived a fourth-quarter rally by Corvallis to win the Mid-Willamette Conference game. Annie Croco led the Warriors with 19 points.

Lebanon (11-2, 3-2) hosts Crescent Valley on Friday.

West Albany 50, Sprague 42

West Albany won its third consecutive game, taking care of Sprague.

The Bulldogs (9-8, 5-4) travel to North Salem on Tuesday.

Colton 36, Jefferson 30

JEFFERSON—Jefferson couldn't string together back-to-back wins as the Lions fell to Colton. 

The Lions (13-6, 3-4) travel to Blanchet Catholic on Friday.

Central Linn 41, Santiam 39

HALSEY — Central Linn held off Santiam to win the Tri-River Conference game. The Cobras (12-5, 5-2) host Reedsport on Wednesday in a nonleague game.

Amity 39, Santiam Christian 21

AMITY — The Eagles fell to Amity in the West Valley League game. SC (6-9, 4-3) resumes league play at Willamina on Friday.

Cottage Grove 69, Sweet Home 28

SWEET HOME — The Huskies dropped the Sky-Em League game to Cottage Grove. Sweet Home (1-16, 0-4) resumes league play on Friday at Junction City.

Gervais 49, Scio 28

GERVAIS — Gervais topped Scio in the PacWest Conference game. The Loggers (3-14, 1-6) host Salem Academy on Friday.


CORVALLIS — Lebanon split a Mid-Willamette Conference dual with Crescent Valley. The boys won 115-55 but the girls lost 99-70.

Casey McEuen (50 freestyle, 100 butterfly) and Jonathan Yordy (200 IM, 500 freestyle) doubled for the boys. No girl won more than one event. 

South Albany sweeps

South Albany won a double dual against Dallas and Marist at the Albany Community Pool. The boys defeated Marist 114-19 and Dallas 103-25; the girls defeated Marist 101-47 and Dallas 111-0.
