SALEM — West Albany remained in first place in the Greater Valley Conference pennant race by topping McKay 15-4 in a game stopped in the fifth inning by the 10-run rule.
The Bulldogs (19-5, 13-2) hold a half-game lead over second-place West Salem in the GVC pennant race. West Albany has one league game remaining, the Titans two.
Hailey Davis was 2 for 3 with a homer and four RBIs and Ellie Babbitt was 3 for 4 with a homer to lead West. Cassie Cosler and Lizzy Johnson were each 3 for 3.
West concludes league play on Friday when it hosts McMinnville. It takes a three-game winning streak into the conference finale.
Lebanon 12, Silverton 8
LEBANON — The Warriors evened their Mid-Willamette Conference record by topping Silverton at LHS.
Rylie Milligan broke a 6-6 tie with a grand slam in the sixth inning and finished with six RBIs. Racheal Chase added her first career home run.
Lebanon (9-13, 8-8) hosts South Albany in a MWC game on Wednesday.
South Albany 6, Crescent Valley 5
The Rebels had only three hits but they never trailed in the Mid-Willamette Conference win over CV. They ended a seven-game tailspin with the win.
South (5-17, 3-13) plays at Lebanon on Wednesday and host Dallas on Friday to conclude the season.
Scio 16, Jefferson 2
JEFFERSON — Scio extended its winning streak to 19 games as the Loggers took the PacWest Conference road win.
The loss was Jefferson's fourth straight.
The Loggers (21-2, 9-0) host Blanchet Catholic on Friday, while the Lions (11-9, 3-6) travel to Salem Academy on Friday.
Amity 11, Santiam Christian 1
AMITY — Amity topped Santiam Christian in a West Valley League game stopped in the last of the sixth by the 10-run rule. Katie Boruff homered for SC's run.
The Eagles (9-9, 4-6) resume WVL action on Wednesday with a home game against Salem Academy.
LEBANON — Lebanon baseball couldn't keep pace with Central as the Warriors fell 9-4 on Tuesday night.
The Warriors (10-11, 7-8) travel to Central on Wednesday.
Santiam Christian 16, Amity 0 (5)
AMITY — Santiam Christian crusied to the West Valley League road win.
The Eagles (15-8, 8-3) travel to Horizon Christian on Thursday.
Jefferson 8, Scio 6
JEFFERSON — Jefferson outlasted Scio for its third win in four games.
The Lions (7-11, 3-4) travel to Salem Academy on Friday and the Loggers (4-13, 2-5) host Blanchet Catholic on Friday.
Sisters 6, Sweet Home 4
SWEET HOME — Sisters pulled into a second-place tie with the Huskies in the Sky-Em League pennant race by winning the league finale.
The Huskies (14-8, 10-5) are idle until a nonleague game at South Albany on Monday.
CORVALLIS — South Albany’s Jessica Armfield qualified for the 5A state girls golf tournament on Tuesday with a sixth-place finish at the Special District 1 tournament at Trysting Tree.
Armfield had a 100-94—194 and qualified as one of the top five not to be on a qualifying team.
The state tournament is next Monday and Tuesday at Trysting Tree.
On Monday, West Albany’s Anna Schweitzer finished third at the 6A Special District 3 tournament to advance to the state tournament next Monday and Tuesday, also at Trysting Tree.
