COLTON — The Santiam Christian High softball team braved the elements Monday afternoon and picked up a 9-1, six-inning nonconference victory at Colton.
Katie Boruff went the distance and struck out seven with no walks.
Aliyah Atkins had two hits, including one double, and two RBIs to lead SC at the plate. Isabel Montoya, Shea Carley and Lauryn Penner also had two hits; Penner, Josie Risinger and Sophey Roberts recorded doubles.
The Eagles (5-4, 2-2) have another nonleague road game Tuesday at Chemawa before resuming West Valley League play Friday night against visiting Sheridan.
Harrisburg 10, Creswell 0 (6)
HARRISBURG — Haley Brooks struck out seven in six shutout innings as Harrisburg trounced visiting Creswell.
Taylor Bennett went 3 for 4 with three RBIs while Taytum Hughes finished 2 for 3 with two RBIs.
The Eagles (10-4, 4-1 Mountain Valley Conference) will also be at home for Tuesday’s matchup with La Pine.
Baseball
GLIDE — Harrisburg evened its Mountain Valley Conference record with a 9-4 victory at Glide.
William Downs went 3 for 5 and scored two runs while Kyle Davis and Trever Dilley had two hits apiece. Caleb Prater drove in three runs.
The Eagles (5-10, 2-2 MVC) are scheduled to host La Pine Tuesday afternoon.
