SWEET HOME — Hayden McDonald had 11 carries for 104 yards and a touchdown and Austin James added 69 yards on 11 carries to lead the Sweet Home High football team to a 21-0 win over Crook County on Friday.
The game was moved to Sweet Home because of the smoky air in Prineville.
McDonald had an 8-yard TD run in the second and Colton Smith connected with Keegan Holly for 69 yards and a 13-0 halftime lead.
James’ 4-yard TD in the third and two-point conversion from Smith to Nathan Virtue gave the Huskies a 21-0 lead.
Smith finished 8 of 18 for 118 and a TD. Casey Tow had three catches for 21 yards.
Sweet Home (2-0) hosts Stayton next Friday.
Crater 34, South Albany 21
The Rebels fell to 0-2 with the home loss after the game was moved to Albany due to poor air conditions at Central Point.
South Albany will open Mid-Willamette Conference play at Corvallis next Friday. The Spartans fell 42-28 at home to Bend on Friday.
Santiam Christian 51, Illinois Valley 13
ADAIR VILLAGE — Santiam Christian jumped out to a 29-0 lead after the first quarter and cruised to a win.
Grant Carley was 13-for-24 passing for 155 yards with two touchdowns and one interception for the Eagles.
Jason Manzi had three catches for 50 yards with two TDs and Conrad Carter added five catches for 42 yards.
Luke Jantzi had 11 carries for 68 yards and a TD and Jackson Connor recovered a fumble in the end zone.
SC (2-0) is at Sheridan next Friday.
Harrisburg 54, St. Mary’s 20
COQUILLE — The Eagles rebounded from a season-opening loss with the big win.
Gabe Knox rushed for 256 yards and two TDs. Dax Bennett threw for 148 yards and three TDs and ran another in.
William Downs had 136 yards receiving and 3 TDs and Antonio Owens had a 90-yard Kickoff return for a TD.
The Eagles led 41-0 at halftime.
Harrisburg (1-10) is at Rainier next Friday.
Central Linn 43, Gaston 13
HALSEY — The Cobras bounced back from a loss in their opener to even their record at 1-1.
Central Linn hosts Vernonia next Friday.
Estacada 21, Scio 20
ESTACADA — The Loggers fell by a point in the road in the nonconference game.
The game was tied 14-14 at the half but Estacada, a 4A school, used a 7-6 advantage in the third to take the win.
Scio (1-1) hosts Gervais next Friday.
Sheridan 27, Jefferson 0
SHERIDAN — The Lions were blanked in the nonconference loss on the road.
Jefferson (0-2) is at Colton next Friday.
JEFFERSON — The Jefferson boys soccer team dropped its season opener, falling 6-1 at home to Grand View Christian Academy.
The Lions (0-1) host Livingston Adventist Academy on Monday.

TAFT — The Cobras fell to 0-2 with the road loss. Central Linn hosts Creswell on Tuesday.
