Here is a look at Friday’s prep football action. All games begin at 7 p.m.
West Albany at Sprague (Salem)
Records: West Albany 4-3, 3-3 6A Greater Valley Conference; Sprague 6-1, 5-1 GVC
West Albany will wrap up its final Greater Valley Conference season with matchups against Sprague and McMinnville.
The Grizzles (4-3, 3-3), South Salem (3-4, 3-3) and West, which is set to rejoin the 5A Mid-Willamette Conference for the 2018-22 time block, are locked in a tie for the GVC’s fourth and final automatic bid to the 6A state playoffs. McMinnville travels to Forest Grove (1-6, 1-5) this week while the Saxons play at league-leading West Salem (6-1, 6-0).
The Bulldogs own the tiebreaker with South Salem.
Lebanon at South Albany
Records: Lebanon 5-2, 2-2 MWC; South Albany 3-4, 3-1 MWC
South Albany can clinch a spot in the 5A state playoffs and remain in the conference title hunt with a victory Friday night.
The Rebels, who dropped a 28-21 home decision to Silverton last week, are just a game back of first-place Crescent Valley (7-0, 4-0). The Raiders host South next week to close the regular season.
Lebanon, the defending MWC and state champion, has won three consecutive games since suffering back-to-back one-point losses to CV (25-24) and Silverton (31-30). Last fall, a 16-14 home loss to South was the Warriors’ lone blemish.
Sweet Home at Elmira
Records: Sweet Home 6-1, 3-1 4A Sky-Em League; Elmira 3-3, 1-3 Sky-Em
With a playoff bid already secured, Sweet Home ends the regular season at Elmira.
The Huskies have earned the Sky-Em’s No. 2 seed and will host a play-in round game next week.
Elmira has dropped three of its last four games, including a 28-7 loss at Sisters last Friday.
Amity at Santiam Christian
Records: Amity 6-1, 2-1 3A West Valley League; Santiam Christian 5-2, 3-1 WVL
Santiam Christian can clinch second place in the West Valley League with a victory in Adair Village.
Amity, which enters on a four-game winning streak, allows just 12 points per contest, the league’s second-best mark behind Willamina’s 9.6.
The Eagles won last year’s matchup 7-0 in Amity.
Scio at Dayton
Records: Scio 6-1, 5-0 3A PacWest Conference; Dayton 6-1, 4-0 WVL
Fresh off its third outright PacWest title in four seasons, Scio closes its regular season with a nonconference showdown in Dayton.
The Loggers are averaging 45.1 points per game offensively, the second-highest total in all of 3A.
Dayton has allowed just 11.3 points per contest since its 49-25 loss at Rainier.
Harrisburg at Coquille
Records: Harrisburg 3-4, 2-1 3A Mountain View Conference; Coquille 6-1, 2-1 MVC
Second place in the MVC will be on the line Friday night on the Oregon Coast.
Both teams have suffered losses to league-leading La Pine, which sits atop the OSAA 3A power rankings.
The Eagles, who dropped their regular-season matchup with Coquille in 2016, downed the Red Devils 28-22 in the state semifinals. Harrisburg went on to win the state title.
Salem Academy at Jefferson
Records: Salem Academy 3-4, 1-2 PacWest; Jefferson 0-7, 0-4 PacWest
The Lions nearly picked up their first win last week, but Gervais made enough plays down the stretch to pull out a 20-14 win.
Salem Academy, the 3A runner-up in 2016, has been inconsistent on both sides of the ball this fall.
Central Linn at Knappa
Records: Central Linn 3-4, 1-2 2A Tri-River Conference; Knappa 6-0, 3-0 2A Northwest League
After three straight Tri-River contests, Central Linn will head north to face Knappa.
The Loggers possess 2A’s top scoring defense at 7.8 points allowed per game.
