The West Albany girls basketball team got its first win of the season at home by edging Willamette 34-26.

The Bulldogs used aggressive defense to shut down the Wolverines' offense.

Saylor Siegner had a team high 12 points for West.

"We played much better on defense tonight," West Albany coach Shawn Stinson said. "Good to get the win."

West (1-2) hosts McNary on Friday.

Scio 52, Santiam 18

Scio picked up its first win of the season at home against Santiam.

McKenzie Reger and Courtney Tharp both had a game-high nine points for the Loggers.

Scio (1-2) plays at Sweet Home on Thursday.

Sweet Home 31, Taft 27

Sweet Home came away with a close win on the road at Taft.

The Huskies (2-1) hosts Scio on Thursday.

Junction City 58, Harrisburg 41

The Eagles dropped a nonconference game at Junction City.

Harrisburg (0-2) will host Catlin Gabel on Saturday.
