South Albany played good defense and took a 26-22 win at home over Centennial.
“It was a good overall team effort,” said coach Theresa Guerra.
Journee Schlabach led the Rebels with eight points.
In addition to good defense, the Rebels used patience in the third quarter to hold Centennial to no points.
South Albany returns to action on Friday when they host Grants Pass. The Rebels host Jefferson of Portland on Saturday.
Jefferson 40, Waldport 37
The Lions earned their first win of the season in a close game at Waldport.
Senior Kelsey Walker had a team-high 18 points and was a solid 6-8 from the free throw line.
Jefferson (1-4) play on the road again at Willamina on Friday.
Monroe 44, East Linn Christian 34
East Linn Christian dropped to 2-2 with the road loss. Sydney Nichol led all scorers with 17 points.
The Eagles host Oakridge on Friday.
Santiam Christian 46, Scio 43
Santiam Christian survived a close game at home against a tough Scio squad.
Rebeka Preston had a game-high 26 points for the Eagles.
Kimberly Ortiz lead Scio with 12 points.
Santiam Christian (3-1) plays at St. Paul on Friday while Scio (2-4) travels to Amity to play Umatilla in the Amity Warriors Tournament.
Lebanon 47, Willamette 35
Lebanon picked up a win at Willamette in a non-league game.
Molly Aranda had a solid game with 24 points, 13 rebounds and five assists.
Kelsey Garcia had a team-high six assists for the Warriors (2-2) who play at Redmond on Saturday.
Roseburg 53, West Albany 33
West Albany fell on the road to Roseburg in nonconference play.
The Bulldogs (1-4) resume Greater Valley Conference play on Friday with a road game at McMinnville.
