EUGENE — The South Albany girls pushed Churchill late into the game but could not get by the Lancers and dropped a 45-38 5A play-in game on the road.
The Rebels wind up the season at 12-12.
South Albany fell into a hole early and trailed 19-8 at the end of the first quarter.
The Rebels held Churchill to four points in the second by switching up their defense, but could not do enough damage on the offensive end.
"We couldn't get shots to fall, that was our biggest problem," SA coach Chelsea McGowan said.
McGowan said it was due in part to Churchill's defense and the fact that the Rebels did not have playoff experience.
"I'm really proud of them," McGowan said. "This season was a real positive experience for the girls (and)for myself. I'm really proud to be their coach."
