The South Albany High boys basketball team used a big second quarter to earn a 63-46 win at St. Helens on Friday night.
Jacob Costello had a game-high 19 points and Cruz Vasquez added 12 more.
The Rebels (3-1) play at Centennial next Tuesday.
McNary 58, West Albany 40
The Bulldogs dropped a Greater Valley Conference matchup at home against McNary.
West was lead by Cooper Getsfrid who had 18 points.
JJ Stewart had nine points for the Bulldogs (0-3) who host Roseburg next Tuesday.
Blanchet Catholic 42, Santiam Christian 36
Santiam Christian started slow in a loss to visiting Blanchet Catholic.
The Eagles fall to 2-1 on the season.
“Our guys didn’t play their normal game,” coach Dennis McLain said. “We did recover in the second half.”
Santiam Christian hosts Scio on Tuesday.
Dayton 62, Harrisburg 49
Dayton bolted out to a 20-8 lead in the first quarter and Harrisburg couldn’t catch up.
Tel Jones led Harrisburg with 18 points.
The Eagles (1-2) host Catlin Gabel on Saturday.
Central Linn 65, Chiloquin 44
Conner Debban scored 21 points and Andre Holmes added 20 as the Cobras pulled away in the second half at the Lost River tournament.
Alex Pettner added 10 points and 14 rebounds and Braden Nightengale had eight points and nine assists for the Cobras.
Central Linn plays for the title at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
Toledo 67, Sweet Home 56
The Huskies dropped a home game against Toledo.
Sweet Home (0-3) will look to bounce back at Yamhill-Carlton next Tuesday.
