PHILOMATH — South Albany High erased a three-point deficit in the fourth quarter to top Philomath 66-56 in the 5A-4A boys basketball battle on Tuesday.

The Rebels (2-0) trailed 44-41 heading into the final quarter but outscored the Warriors (0-1) 25-12 to make off with the victory.

Jake Costello had 25 points, Jaden Guilford 14 and Kyle Miller 11 for the Rebels. Nolan Jackson led Philomath with 18 points and Kenan Connor had 11. 

South Albany plays Crater at the Crater Tournament on Thursday. 

Santiam Christian 79, Portland Adventist 67

ADAIR VILLAGE— The Eagles improved to 2-0 with the nonleague home win.

Santiam Christian hosts Creswell on Friday.

Churchill 69, Lebanon 38

EUGENE — The Warriors dropped their second straight to fall to 1-2 with the nonconference road loss.

Lebanon (1-2) is at Franklin on Thursday night.

WALDPORT — The Cobras fell to 0-2 on the season and will host Lowell on Friday.
