Marcus Frazier (Lebanon), competing for Corban, shared third place at this week’s Oregon Tech Fall Invitational in Klamath Falls with Northwest Christian’s Josh Goins (Lebanon). Frazier recorded a 66-70-75—211 while Goins shot a 72-67-72—211.


Nathan Jones (Scio) had six tackles and two pass breakups Saturday in Western Oregon’s 30-23 loss at Central Washington in Bothell, Washington. Teammate Brian Sarbeck (Scio) added four tackles.


Jakeb Cripe (Lebanon) had three tackles and two quarterback hits Saturday in College of the Redwoods’ 14-9 win at Gavilan in Gilroy, California.


Maddy Gravley (Santiam Christian) had two kills, one stuff block and one assist Saturday in Oregon State’s 3-0 win over New Orleans.

Friday, Gravley had three kills and three block assists in a straight-sets loss to North Texas.

Both matches were part of the North Texas Challenge in Denton, Texas.


Payton Rund (West Albany) had six kills and nine digs Saturday in Saint Mary’s’ 3-0 home victory over Cal State Northridge.

Friday, Rund collected six kills, eight digs, one assist and one block assist in a sweep of visiting Fresno State.


Ally Benedict (West Albany) had four assists and four digs Saturday in Portland State’s straight-sets loss to Boise State.

Friday, Benedict had four digs in a 3-0 loss to Santa Clara. She tallied two digs and one assist earlier in the day as the Vikings earned a four-set win over Cal Poly.

All matches were part of the UC Davis Tournament in Davis, California.


Libbie Hoene (Lebanon) had three digs, one ace and one assist Saturday in Western Oregon’s 3-2 loss to Cal State East Bay. Earlier in the day, Hoene had one ace and one assist in a five-set win over Fresno Pacific.

Last Thursday, she had three digs in a sweep of Cal State San Marcos.

All matches were part of the Division II West Region Showcase in Monmouth.


Emma Ryan (Lebanon) had seven digs and one ace last Wednesday in Southern Oregon’s 3-1 victory over Oregon Tech in Ashland.

Competing for the Owls, Whitney Webster (West Albany) had seven kills and one dig. Teammate Bella Smith (Santiam Christian) added 13 kills and three assists.


Amber Parker (West Albany) had 13 kills, nine digs, one block assist and one ace Saturday in Corban’s straight-sets home victory over Evergreen State in Salem. Teammate Marandah Boeder (West Albany) added five kills, four block assists and one stuff block, Madison McLain (Santiam Christian) 27 assists and one dig and Haley Wells (West Albany) 12 digs and one assist.

Friday, Parker had 16 kills, four digs, two assists, one stuff block and one block assist, Boeder five kills, two block assists, two digs and two assists, McLain 16 assists and five digs and Wells 14 digs, six assists and one kill in a 3-0 home win over Northwest.

Cara Crosby (Santiam Christian) had a combined two aces, four digs and one assist Saturday as Whitworth dropped a pair of matches to Whittier (3-2) and Claremont (3-0).

Friday, she had a combined six digs, one assist and one ace in matches against Pomona-Pitzer (3-0 win) and Cal Lutheran (3-1 loss).

All matches were part of the Cal Lu Fornia Invitational in Thousand Oaks, California.


Jane Cale (West Albany) had 30 assists, 14 digs, two kills, one stuff block and one block assist last Wednesday in Chemeketa’s 3-0 home victory over South Puget Sound in Salem. Teammate Lauren Kerlegan (Lebanon) had five kills, three digs, two block assists and one stuff block.

Men’s soccer

Igor Hubenya (South Albany) recorded one shot Sunday in Corban’s 4-0 victory at Linfield in McMinnville.

Women’s cross-country

Nicole Niskanen (South Albany), competing for Western Oregon, finished 86th with a time of 20 minutes, 15.3 seconds Friday at the 4,600-meter Ash Creek Collegiate in Monmouth.

Men’s cross-country

AJ Holmberg (Scio), competing for Western Oregon, finished 53rd with a time of 20:52.2 Friday at the 6,200-meter Ash Creek Collegiate.

Running for Warner Pacific, Chris Morgan (South Albany) finished 109th with a time of 26:22.4.
