Cal Poly’s Colton Schilling (Sweet Home) won the 141-pound title at Sunday’s Pac-12 championships at Gill Coliseum.
Schilling, a senior, is Cal Poly’s first Pac-12 champion in five years. He advances to the NCAA Division I National Championships, held March 15-17 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Teammate Ty Schilling (Sweet Home) placed fifth in the 133-pound bracket.
Men’s indoor track and field
Idaho’s Zack Short (Lebanon) won the shot put title with a top throw of 59 feet, 4¾ inches last weekend at the Big Sky Conference championships in Flagstaff, Arizona.
Air Force’s Jake LaCoste (West Albany) placed sixth in the long jump (22-11) and 11th in the high jump (6-1¼) last weekend at the Mountain West Conference championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Western Oregon’s A.J. Holmberg (Scio) placed third in the 800 meters with a time of 1 minute, 54.68 seconds Saturday at the Seattle Pacific University Last Chance Qualifier. Teammate Trey Reed (Scio) finished sixth in the 400 at 51.76.
Holmberg was named to the NCAA Division II All-Region team for the distance medley.
Women’s indoor track and field
George Fox’s Victoria Schroeder (Santiam Christian) finished fourth in the high jump at 5-1¼ Saturday at the Seattle Pacific University Last Chance Qualifier.
Jaxson Daskalos (West Albany), competing for Concordia, tied for 42nd with a three-round 86-80-76—242 this week at the Bay Area Invitational in Livermore, California.
Competing for St. Martin’s, Chace Daskalos (West Albany) tied for 67th with an 87-84-81—252.
Corey James (West Albany) had four rebounds Saturday in Portland State’s 68-59 home victory over Northern Arizona.
Last Thursday, James had seven points, two rebounds and an assist in a 70-66 win over visiting Southern Utah.
Ali Nelke (West Albany) had two points and a rebound Saturday in Western Oregon’s 73-66 loss at St. Martin’s in Lacey, Washington.
Last Thursday, Nelke had five rebounds in a 73-68 loss at Seattle Pacific.
Katie Skipworth (Lebanon) had eight points, eight rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block Saturday in Skagit Valley’s 80-56 home loss to Everett in Mount Vernon, Washington.
Last Wednesday, Skipworth had 11 points, four assists and a rebound in a 78-75 loss to visiting Peninsula.
Maci Bozett (Lebanon) was voted first-team all-Cascade Collegiate Conference after averaging 13.7 points per game for Corban during her senior season.
Nate Sherwood (West Albany) had 15 points and 10 rebounds Saturday in Idaho’s 68-62 victory at Weber State. Teammate Chad Sherwood (West Albany) added 11 points, three rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Last Thursday, Nate Sherwood had 19 points, a rebound and a block and Chad Sherwood seven points, three assists, two rebounds, a block and a steal in an 86-83 loss at Idaho State.
Cooper Getsfrid (West Albany) had 19 points, four rebounds, an assist and a steal Saturday in Linn-Benton’s 101-94 home win over Mt. Hood.
Last Wednesday, Getsfrid had seven points, three rebounds and a block in a 90-68 victory at Lane in Eugene.
Julia Smith-Harrington (West Albany) allowed four runs (two earned) on five hits with two walks and no strikeouts in three innings Saturday in Towson’s 7-4 victory over Charlotte.
Friday, Smith-Harrington picked up the win after giving up just one run on three hits with a walk and a strikeout in five innings in an 8-4 victory over Oakland.
Both games were part of the 49er Classic in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Cheyanne Rimer (Scio) went 2 for 3 with a home run and two RBIs Sunday in Western Oregon’s 4-2 victory over Eastern Oregon.
Saturday, Rimer went 2 for 2 with a walk and two runs scored in a 6-0 win over Eastern Oregon.
Both games were part of the Cavalier Classic in Portland.
Kaylee Buhrkuhl (Santiam Christian) went 0 for 4 with a run scored Saturday in Corban’s 9-4 victory over Concordia at the Cavalier Classic.
Hannah Yelas (Santiam Christian) went the distance and allowed three runs (one earned) on eight hits with two walks and two strikeouts Saturday in Northwest’s 3-2 loss to Concordia at the Cavalier Classic.
Emily Marchbanks (Sweet Home) struck out three with no walks in two scoreless innings Sunday in Newberry’s 20-0 home victory over Elizabeth City State Newberry, South Carolina.
Saturday, Marchbanks allowed two runs on six hits with two strikeouts and a walk in 5⅔ innings in a 2-0 home loss to North Greenville.
Nicole Whitney (Santiam Christian) went a combined 2 for 6 with a walk and a run scored last Thursday as San Diego Christian swept a road doubleheader with Saint Katherine in Poway, California.
Renel Koker (Lebanon) went a combined 1 for 4 with an RBI and a run scored Saturday as Clackamas split a pair of games with Everett and Bellevue in Bellevue, Washington.
Kennedy Jantzi (West Albany) went a combined 1 for 7 with a solo home run Sunday as Mt. Hood split two games with Blue Mountain and Walla Walla at the Northwest Athletic Conference Preseason Crossover in Richland, Washington.
Logan Nousen (Harrisburg) gave up one run on one hit in ⅔ of an inning Saturday in Oregon Tech’s 8-4 loss to Corban in Keizer.

Saturday, Pynes went 1 for 3 with an RBI and a run scored in an 8-7 home win over Feather River.
