Kelsey Broadus (West Albany) pitched a combined three scoreless innings of relief and picked up two saves Tuesday as Boise State swept a doubleheader at Portland State.

Saturday, Broadus went the distance and allowed two runs on two hits with eight strikeouts and six walks in a 10-2, five-inning victory over visiting San Jose State.

Friday, Broadus threw all seven innings and gave up two runs (one earned) on five hits while walking two and striking out six in a 2-0 home loss to San Jose State.


Julia Smith-Harrington (West Albany) surrendered seven runs on nine hits with a strikeout and a walk in three innings Saturday in Towson’s 10-5 loss at James Madison.


Cheyanne Rimer (Scio) was a combined 5 for 14 with two doubles, three RBIs and three runs scored last weekend as Western Oregon went 2-3 at the Tournament of Champions in Stanislaus, California.


Kaylee Buhrkuhl (Santiam Christian) went a combined 3 for 9 with a run scored Tuesday as Corban took two of three from Oregon Tech in Medford.


Emily Marchbanks (Sweet Home) pitched four shutout innings Tuesday in Newberry’s 7-1 victory over visiting Wingate in Newberry, South Carolina.

Saturday, Marchbanks threw all seven innings and limited Belmont Abbey to four runs (two earned) on six hits with a strikeout and two walks in a 5-4 victory.

Friday, Marchbanks allowed four runs on six hits in five innings with seven strikeouts and a walk in a 5-4 loss at Queens in Charlotte, North Carolina.


Hannah Yelas (Santiam Christian) went a combined 3 for 4 with four RBIs at the plate and pitched all five innings while giving up one run on five hits with a walk and a strikeout in Game 2 as Northwest swept a doubleheader with Providence in Bothell, Washington.

Friday, Yelas threw a complete game and allowed six runs on 12 hits with three walks and a strikeout in the opener while going a combined 1 for 6 with two RBIs in a split with Providence.


Nicole Whitney (Santiam Christian) went a combined 1 for 4 with two walks and two runs scored Tuesday as San Diego Christian dropped both legs of a doubleheader with Arizona Christian in Phoenix.


Kennedy Jantzi (West Albany) went a combined 2 for 6 with a home run, three RBIs and a run scored Tuesday as Mt. Hood swept a home doubleheader with Centralia in Gresham.

Saturday, Jantzi went a combined 5 for 5 with four RBIs and four runs scored in a home sweep of Clark.


Logan Nousen (Harrisburg) allowed three runs on four hits in one inning of relief Sunday as Oregon Tech dropped a 13-2 decision to British Columbia in Vancouver, B.C.

Saturday, Nousen went 0 for 1 at the plate and took the loss after giving up one run on two hits in 2⅓ innings of relief as British Columbia handed OIT a 7-6, 14-inning defeat.


Darren Crosby (Santiam Christian) pitched four scoreless innings of relief to get the win Sunday in Whitworth’s 15-6 victory over Puget Sound in Spokane, Washington.

Saturday, Crosby threw one scoreless inning with two strikeouts in a 6-1 home win over Puget Sound.


Jackson Soto (West Albany) went a combined 1 for 5 with two walks and two RBIs Saturday as Lane split a home doubleheader with Centralia in Eugene.

Men’s track and field

Idaho’s Zack Short (Lebanon) won the shot put with a personal-record throw of 59 feet, 9¾ inches and placed third in the discus at 159-03 last week at the Sam Adams Invitational in Spokane, Washington.


A.J. Holmberg (Scio) placed sixth in the 400 meters (50.83 seconds) and helped Western Oregon’s 1,600 relay team take third (3:26.46) Saturday at the Willamette Invitational in Salem.

Teammate Trey Reed (Scio) finished 14th in the 800 with a time of 1:59.24.


Oregon Tech’s Alexander Turkins (South Albany) placed sixth in the discus (113-4) and 10th in the hammer (118-4) at Saturday’s Humboldt Invitational in Arcata, California.


George Fox’s Nicholas Armour (Santiam Christian) shared fourth in the long jump (19-9½) and placed 10th in the 200 (23.44) at last weekend’s Westmont Classic in Santa Barbara, California.

Women’s track and field

Western Oregon’s Nicole Niskanen (Western Oregon) placed 13th in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:10.75 at the Willamette Invitational.

Competing for Linfield, Josie Knight (Sweet Home) took 19th in the shot put with a top throw of 33-10¾.

Competing for Cobran, Mackenzie Wilson (East Linn Christian) was fifth in the 400 at 1:00.48 and ran legs on the Warriors’ 400 and 1,600 relay teams.


Oregon Tech’s Allison Young (West Albany) finished seventh in the 200 (28.55) and eighth in the 400 (1:05.51) and shot put (28-9¼) at the Humboldt Invitational.


George Fox’s Victoria Schroeder (Santiam Christian) finished second in the high jump with a top mark of 5-1 at the Westmont Classic.

Teammate Tahnisha Manibusan (South Albany) was third in the discus (117-0) and seventh in the hammer (109-4).

Men’s golf

Corban’s Marcus Frazier (Lebanon) finished in a tie for 59th with an 88-86-78—252 this week at the Desert Intercollegiate in Indio, California.
