Men’s indoor track and field
Idaho’s Zack Short (Lebanon) won the shot put with a top throw of 57 feet, 8¼ inches at last weekend’s Cougar Indoor Invitational in Pullman, Washington. It was Short’s second-best throw of the season, trailing only a toss of 58-9¼ that is ranked second in the Big Sky Conference and 47th nationally.
Air Force’s Jake LaCoste (West Albany) tied for seventh in the high jump (6-1¼) and placed eighth in the long jump (21-6¾) last weekend at the Colorado Invitational in Boulder, Colorado.
Josiah Stroup (Lebanon), competing for Oregon Tech, finished third in the 400 meters (51.53 seconds) and 10th in the 200 (23.7) at last weekend’s Sunshine Indoor Open in Santa Barbara, California.
Women’s indoor track and field
Oregon Tech’s Allison Young (West Albany) finished ninth in the 60 (8.58) and 12th in the 200 (28.07) at the Sunshine Indoor Open.
Chad Sherwood (West Albany) had 12 points, two rebounds and an assist Saturday in Idaho’s 81-58 victory at Sacramento State. Teammate Nate Sherwood (West Albany) added two points, three rebounds, two assists and a block.
Last Thursday, Nate Sherwood had 10 points, five rebounds, five assists and two blocks while Chad Sherwood collected two points, five assists, two steals and a rebound in a 97-88 victory at Portland State.
Cooper Getsfrid (West Albany) had seven points, three rebounds, two steals and an assist Saturday in Linn-Benton’s 82-63 home win over Portland.
Last Wednesday, Getsfrid had a team-high 20 points, four rebounds and a block in a 90-86 overtime victory over visiting Southwestern Oregon.
Corey James (West Albany) had one point, five rebounds, a block and a steal Saturday in Portland State’s 64-57 loss at Eastern Washington.
Last Thursday, James had two rebounds, two assists and a steal in a 61-60 loss at Idaho.
Ali Nelke (West Albany) had four points and five rebounds Saturday in Western Oregon’s 74-57 loss at Simon Fraser in Burnaby, B.C.
Last Thursday, Nelke had five points, seven rebounds and two steals in a 66-46 loss at Western Washington in Bellingham, Washington.
Paige Graham (Scio) had two points, five rebounds, three steals and two assists Saturday in Linfield’s 74-59 victory at Pacific Lutheran in Tacoma, Washington.
Maci Bozett (Lebanon) had 17 points, two steals, a rebound and an assist Saturday in Corban’s 71-61 home victory over Warner Pacific.
Friday, Bozett had 28 points, five rebounds, three steals and an assist in a 75-47 win over visiting Multnomah. Bozett was 7 of 8 from beyond the arc.
Katie Skipworth (Lebanon) had six points, five rebounds and four assists last Wednesday in Skagit Valley’s 68-45 victory at Edmonds in Lynnwood, Washington.
Cal Poly’s Ty Schilling (Sweet Home) dropped a 6-2 decision to Devan Turner at 133 pounds during Saturday’s Pac-12 dual meet at Oregon State. The Beavers defeated the Mustangs, 34-11.
Last Wednesday, teammate Colton Schilling (Sweet Home) pinned Russell Rohlfing at 141 while Ty Shilling lost a 5-1 decision to Sean Nickell in a 28-15 dual defeat at Cal State Bakersfield.
Adrian Lyons-Lopez (South Albany) earned a 10-1 major decision over Kody Davis at 174 last Friday as Providence defeated Embry-Riddle 22-20 in a home dual meet in Great Falls, Montana.
Scottie Stockman (Sweet Home) went 1-1 at 149 last Saturday as Southern Oregon swept home duals with Warner Pacific (28-22) and Eastern Oregon (27-16) in Ashland.
Logan Nousen (Harisburg) picked up the win after throwing two innings of scoreless relief Sunday in Oregon Tech’s 5-3 victory over Simpson in Redding, California.
Darren Crosby (Santiam Christian) tossed 2⅔ innings of scoreless relief Friday in Whitworth’s 6-1 win over East Texas Baptist in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Alex Pynes (West Albany) went 0 for 1 with one RBI Saturday in Shasta’s 5-4 victory over American River in Redding, California.
Cheyanne Rimer (Scio) was a combined 3 for 17 with two RBIs and three runs scored last weekend as Western Oregon went 3-2 at the Desert Stinger Classic in Las Vegas.
Emily Marchbaks (Sweet Home) got the win after allowing just one earned run in four innings Tuesday in Newberry’s 15-3, five-inning victory over Claflin in Orangeburg, South Carolina.
Nicole Whitney (Santiam Christian) was a combined 0 for 2 with a walk Friday as San Diego Christian split a doubleheader with Embry-Riddle in Santee, California.
