EUGENE — The Linn-Benton Community College baseball team wrapped up the regular season with an amazing 30-game winning streak after sweeping Lane in a Northwest Athletic Conference doubleheader on Saturday.
The Roadrunners (42-2) easily won the South Region with a 29-1 record. Their last loss came March 30 in the first game of a doubleheader with Mt. Hood.
LB won the opener 12-4, scoring two in the first and two in the second before leading 6-0 after four. Leadoff batter Chase Cosner was 4 for 5 and scored four runs. Joshua Congdon had two hits and three RBIs and Damon Peters had two hits and two RBIs as the top three batters were a combined 8 for 14 with six runs scored and six RBIs.
Fridtjof Fremstad added two hits and two RBIs for LBCC, while Congdon homered and the Roadrunners had four doubles.
The Roadrunners put up two in the first and one in the third to start a 6-0 victory in the nightcap. Cole Carder had a single and two RBIs.
