Joshua Congdon and Cole Carder homered and three pitchers allowed just four hits in Linn-Benton Community College’s 8-0 victory over Lane on Friday in the first game of a Northwest Athletic Conference South Region baseball game.
The Roadrunners pushed their win streak to 27 with a 6-1 triumph in the nightcap to win the series. LB (41-2, 28-1) wraps up the regular season at Lane (22-23, 16-13) with a doubleheader Saturday.
In the opener, Brock Townsend allowed one hit over six innings, striking out eight, to pick up the win.
Carder, Cole Hamilton and Damon Peters all had two hits as the Roadrunners banged out 10. Carder drove in three runs and Hamilton two.
In the nightcap, a five-run third inning was more than enough to help the Roadrunners get the sweep.
Tate Cowden had two RBIs as LB scored more runs (six) than it had hits (four).
