EUGENE — A sixth-run fourth inning broke a scoreless tie and was more than enough for the Linn-Benton Community College baseball team to push its winning streak to 26 games on Tuesday.

The Roadrunners used that outburst to take a 9-2 Northwest Athletic Conference South Regional victory over Lane in the opener of the final five-game series of the season.

Tate Cowden had three hits and belted a grand slam in the fourth, and Damon Peters homered and drove in two runs for LB.

The Roadrunners (38-2, 25-1) and Titans (22-20, 16-10) meet for a doubleheader at LB on Friday and wrap up the regular season with a doubleheader at Lane on Saturday.
