Now we have had another shooting with almost unimaginable casualties, including children that were almost babies. And the law enforcement people are doing their duty to find out for sure who did the shooting, what were the motives, how many guns he used and what kind. The president has already implied that it was done by an evil person.

Who or what is to blame? If it is due to an evil person, then what made him evil? It will be an easy answer for some. Of course, it is due to Satan, that evil entity that has been fighting against God and God’s people ever since Eden.

What do we tolerate that may contribute to incidents like this and other terrible actions that persons take against others? We tolerate and support by participation violence in the entertainment industries. Arnold Schwarzenegger made a living as The Terminator. His notoriety as an actor of violence helped him become the governor of our largest state. We like violence in movies; we tolerate violence in real time by what we support.

I agree with those who say that guns are not the problem but those who use guns irresponsibly. Guns just happen to be far too prevalent in a society that in its entertainment and to a large extent in society, use them to “solve” problems.

If we are serious about addressing these episode of violence, we must also be willing to look at what we condone, celebrate and consider acceptable in entertainment and otherwise.
