"...the students' top goal — a ban on assault-style rifles... — was taken off the table..."
I can't believe the AP writers could write that sentence, nor can I believe you could publish it! How unfeeling, how cold!
Surely the lives of our students are more important than the use of assault-style rifles!
And who took that option off what table? Congresspeople purchased by the NRA? Inhuman politicians whose souls have been fried by millions of NRA dollars?
The Second Amendment never mentions assault rifles; there are plenty of other firearms available for legitimate purposes! We don't need assault rifles, which are the one weapon capable of mass shootings.
Hunters are forbidden to use assault rifles on game. How can our children be less important than a deer or elk?
