We are a churchified country! Everywhere you look in this country you find churches. There is no shortage of them. What we are short on is actual followers of Jesus!

Nowhere is this more apparent than our massive mistreatment of immigrants — those referred to in the Bible as "strangers" or "sojourners." Tearing families apart and robbing children of their parents is unspeakably cruel and totally inexcusable. We should all be outraged, and demand a change in the law.

There are dozens of Old Testament scriptures that address how we treat the stranger who comes into our presence. Exodus 22:21-22: "You shall not wrong a sojourner or oppress him, for you were sojourners in the land of Egypt. You shall not mistreat any widow or fatherless child." Exodus 12:49: " There shall be one law for the native and for the stranger who sojourns among you." (Equal protection under law.)

In the New Testament: "Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares." (Hebrews 13:2) And "For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me a drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me." (Mathew 25:35)

When will church people become Christians? "Not everyone who says Lord, Lord will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my father in heaven."
