Thank you, Melissa Buckner, the educational assistant at Central School, who added her voice to the chorus of folks asking for adults to ride buses to stop bullying.
But then the timid, no-change administrators say, "That wouldn't necessarily solve the problem ... might actually create more problems because they have had no training." Of course not: they are only parents who deal with discipline and confidential stuff every day.
Running a school bus system does not qualify a person to know how to establish order. The issue can be studied to death with no improvement. What will be the tipping point (a death?) before anything is done?
Place vetted adults on the buses now just to watch. Just their presence will accomplish much immediately.
