Thank you for your recent coverage of the limits to what can be recycled through curbside recycling (Mid-Valley Sunday, April 8). It is important information. I think an excellent follow-up story would describe other venues where certain types of items can still be recycled. For example, scrap metal and wood are accepted at the Habitat ReStore. Plastic film from dry-cleaner bags can go to grocery story bag recycling. Clean food tubs with lids are accepted for sterilization and reuse at First Alternative Co-op in Corvallis.
These should all be verified by your reporter, of course, and I'm sure there are more options also. I look forward to learning about more of them from you.
