Mr. Trump is threatening to wipe out a country. He is determined that North Korea must give up it's nuclear weapons, and is looking to China to make that happen. China is dragging it's feet because it knows N.K. won't give them up, and China won't ask them to. China is just trying to get N.K. to quit firing missiles in our direction. Putin, who is closer (diplomatically) to N.K. than China is, said the N.K.s will eat grass before they give up their nukes. So that's not happening!

What China has suggested, and N.K. says they are open to, is a freeze on further development of nukes and missiles providing the U. S. agrees to stop running joint military exercises with South Korea on N.K.s borders.

Jimmy Carter has visited N.K. and talked with high officials there several times. He agrees that N.K. won't give up their nukes. He says that they want direct talks with the U. S. leading to a permanent peace treaty to replace the cease-fire we are still under from 1953.

We do not have diplomatic relations with N. K., or diplomatic recognition, even. That needs to change. Otherwise we are on a path to war in which deaths could easily run into the millions, and wipe out a whole country, as Mr. Trump has threatened to do.
