I am deeply saddened by the disgraceful behavior of professional athletes and others who have shown such utter disrespect for our national anthem and flag.
For years other countries around the world have admired the United States for the broad display of our flag and the attention we give it at major public events. Now some of those countries are following suit with their flags appearing in homes and at businesses. Their national anthems are now a common thing a big sporting events. Our national anthem has been revered for generations and has become like a trademark of freedom for our country to wear with pride.
I pray we will soon see broad displays of loyalty and patriotism everywhere in order to overcome those who would think otherwise. Remember the days following 9/11? The American flag was displayed everywhere. Let's bring that enthusiasm back again!
