LINN COUNTY SHERIFF
Daylight burglary — 11 p.m. Thursday, 37000 block of Highway 228. A caller reported a forced-entry home break-in earlier in the day that resulted in the loss of $12,000 worth of items. Two cameras, a drone, a bag of earrings and a stringed Japanese musical instrument called a koto were taken.
Missing engine — 9:41 p.m. Thursday, 2800 block of Scott Mountain. A caller reported that while he was incarcerated, someone had stolen a Chevrolet 305 CI engine from a trailer. He valued the loss at $5,000.
Vehicle recovered — 9:50 a.m. Thursday, 35000 block of Cold Spring Road. A deputy recovered a damaged red 1995 Honda Civic in a field. No one was present at the scene. The car had been reported missing from Albany earlier that day. Evidence was collected. The investigation continues.
LINN COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT
Burglary, theft – From Friday afternoon. Rhonda Jo Salomon, 52, of Keizer, was charged with first-degree burglary, aggravated first-degree theft and first-degree criminal mischief. The crimes allegedly occurred in the 34700 block of Highway 20 in Lebanon on Thursday, according to the charging document in the case. Property worth $10,000 or more was stolen, court paperwork indicates. The state has filed a notice of intent to seek an enhanced sentence in the case. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office was the arresting agency in the case.
Vehicle theft – From Friday afternoon. Jeffrey Daniel Minten, 36, of Scio, was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle. The crime allegedly occurred on Wednesday. The state has filed a notice of intent to seek an enhanced sentence in the case. The Linn County Sheriff’s Office was the arresting agency in the case.
