Mailbag: Try, convict Obama

As a disabled United States Navy Veteran I feel it is time to remove from office President Barack Hussein Obama.

He has done nothing but rip this country apart, rather than serve and protect our country and our Constitution as he swore an oath to do.

He needs to be tried and convicted of treason and returned to Kenya.

Alan Curtis, Mill City (Nov. 3)

Alan, when and where did you serve?
I really don't know many fellow vets, especially those with combat experience, who would stoop to such racist comments. Most vets believe that the reason we joined the Navy, or any service, was to protect idiots such as yourself first amendment rights.
But as Ron White said...."you can't fix stupid."

gobeavs, I think you are the moron.

Alan is brave enough to both serve his country, and publish his name , not like the pile of chicken poop you are calling people names hiding behind the name of gobeavs and you certainly don't speak for everyone

You mean it's 'hard' because it's a completely preposterous proposal that has no basis in reality and no evidence to support it?

Do you think Alan's idea could be accomplished even if the Republicans held super-majorities in both houses of congress?

Here's a hint: In order to be convicted of treason, one must first have a committed treasonable offense. In Alan's world, a 'treasonable offense' is any policy that Alan disagrees with, or maybe simply not being a white Republican is offense enough.

Also, anytime a right-wing dip-shat like Alan uses the president's full name, it is a jab at his ethnicity. Say what you want, deny deny deny, but that's a fact and everyone knows it

Alan is a racist. And a stupid one at that. That's pretty much all there is to it.

To be clear, trial for treason is independent of impeachment.

Presumably treason could be used as grounds for impeachment but it is a crime unto itself in federal law ( and is prosecutable without involvement of congress, which impeachment requires.

I am not sure what Alan is on but it is very hard to impeach a president. Even harder to get the liberal dems to remove him (Clinton)

But I am so sick of the idiots playing the race card every time someone does not like their King.

What I find incredibly funny about this whole 'Kenya' thing is that there was NO Kenya when B. Obama was born. The President was born on August 4, 1961. Kenya gained independence from Great Britain in 1963, and declared their republic the following year. Why does no one ever talk about that? Obama is a horrible president, but let's discuss factual things, and not ridiculous conspiracy theories.

There are a lot of ignorant folks who glibly suggest that President Obama be tried for treason. They simply do not have any "high crimes and misdemeanors" to actually get that ball rolling. Might I suggest that those of a like mind with Mr. Curtis, actually research the process of impeachment and identify, specifically, why Obama should be impeached.

Hint: You cannot impeach the president just because he's black and you don't like him. We just re-elected him. Stop wasting our time.
