Mailbag: The Alinskyite method

Mr. Schneider’s Sept. 21 response to my factual letter concerning Rep. Peter DeFazio follows the expected Alinskyite method of name-calling and vilification of those who hold traditional American values and opinions that disagree with his own. Congressman DeFazio was in a leadership role in instituting the Progessive (Socialist) Caucus in Congress. This fact would logically lead an intelligent person to conclude that he is sympathetic to that ideology.

Even our “best and brightest high school students” could understand that. DeFazio is a shrewd politician; I will give him that.

Mr. Schneider is correct when he describes socialism as the “nationalization of the means of production” (and distribution). It is opposite of private ownership. I submit President Obama’s takeover of General Motors. More to come, I assure you, if we continue to elect this president and this congress. My simple request is that we all investigate the ideology of our elected leaders and vote responsibly and “American.”

Mr. Schneider’s statement at the end of his letter that the “rest of us will wait for the next recession” is laughable. We are still in this unending recession and this president and his friends have kept us there. Our national debt is now over 16 trillion dollars, 5.5 trillion more than it was when Obama took office. And, where is the Dems’ budget? They have none. One needs no budget if his objective is to spend us into oblivion and destroy the economy of our country. As Rahm Emmanuel, the socialist friend of Obama, has remarked, “Never let a good crisis go to waste.”
