Recently (Dec. 30) there was an article in the paper about CPAP use and the power company.
A $39 solution I have found is to get a 12-volt battery clip-on to a cigarette lighter adapter and plug a DC-to-AC power inverter into the cigarette adapter. This gives 120-volt power from a 12-volt car battery, which is pretty easy to come by.
The power supplied is plenty for a CPAP; my CPAP runs 12 hours or more from a car battery and 48 hours on an RV battery. The inverter, extension cord and clip-on are available through Amazon.
