Two cars collided, apparently nearly head-on, at the intersection of Geary Street and Queen Avenue Southeast at about 8:10 p.m. on Thursday night.

Albany Fire Department Battalion Chief Scott Cowan said that six people were transported by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries.

“Luckily, no one got seriously hurt. It was a pretty good impact,” Cowan added.

Few details were available about the crash on Thursday night at deadline. Three Albany Police Department officers were conducting interviews at approximately 8:45 p.m.

The northbound lane of Geary was blocked by the crash at Queen, but traffic moved steady in other directions of the busy intersection as authorities gathered details about the incident.
