SWEET HOME POLICE
Guns, drugs and counterfeiting gear seized — 8:18 a.m. Thursday, 1500 block of 12th Avenue. An early morning search warrant revealed an identity fraud operation at a Sweet Home apartment building. Sweet Home officers, along with members of the Linn County Interagency Narcotics team, served the warrant, arresting Trudy Lynn Keller, 55, and Brian Kirk Meier, 49. Keller was charged with 13 counts of identity theft, five counts of forgery, mail theft, computer crime and possession of methamphetamine. Meier was cited and released for possession of methamphetamine. The raid stems from a report that the couple had been charging expenses to their neighbor's checking account. Police also believe the pair had opened several other accounts in the alleged victim's name. Keller was arraigned Friday in Linn County Circuit Court.
Burglary/assault — 4:15 a.m. Friday, 1400 block of Calapooia Street SW. An officer responded to a burglary call and discovered a man known to the resident had entered her home and allegedly tried to choke her. The matter has been referred to the Linn County District Attorney's office.
Burglary — Thursday, 500 block of 24th Avenue SE. A woman returned to her home after being away and told police her home must have been broken into sometime between Dec. 22 and Dec. 28 of last year. She is compiling a list of the items she says were taken.
LINN COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT
Menacing and weapons charge — 3 p.m. Friday, Linn County Courthouse. Kenneth Steven Stierna, 32, is accused of unlawful use of a firearm and menacing. The charges stem from a Jan. 25 incident, during which Stierna is alleged to have threatened a female with a gun.
