Assault — Tyler Bruce Lanz, 30, of Sweet Home was charged with second-degree assault, strangulation and fourth-degree assault. All of the charges were listed as domestic violence. The crimes allegedly took place between Feb. 2 and Feb. 3. The deadly or dangerous weapon used in the assault was a belt, according to court paperwork. Lanz has been convicted of fourth-degree assault or similar crimes from other jurisdictions at least three times and all of the assaults involved domestic violence, according to the charging document. The state has filed a motion to seek an enhanced sentence in the case.
Attempt to elude — Josey Wayne Cade, 36, of Stayton was charged with felony fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, criminal driving while suspended or revoked and reckless driving. The crimes allegedly occurred on Saturday. The state filed a motion to seek an enhanced sentence in the case, partly because Cade was on post-prison supervision for a similar offense. His bail was set at $10,000.
Failure to appear — Tosha Dyann Dimick, 37, of Albany was charged with three counts of first-degree failure to appear, a felony. The crimes allegedly occurred on July 17, Sept. 25 and Dec. 11.
Attempt to elude — Kyle Matthew Rains, 31, of Sweet Home was indicted on charges of felony fleeing or attempt to elude (by vehicle), misdemeanor fleeing or attempt to elude (by foot) and driving while suspended or revoked. The crimes took place on Aug. 30, according to the charging document. In a separate case, Rains was indicted on charges of felony and misdemeanor attempt to elude, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person and felony first-degree failure to appear. Those crimes occurred on Sept. 27, according to court paperwork. Rains was charged with a probation violation in a third case.
