People arrested are innocent unless proven otherwise in court. Initial charges often change as a case progresses.

Albany Police

Arrest — Police stopped a driver when she did not signal and found out she had a warrant as well as a meth pipe. Cassandra Anita Martinez, 31, of Albany was charged with parole violation and unlawful meth possession after she was pulled over about 4:20 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Baker Street S.E. She was lodged at the Linn County Jail.

Linn County Sheriff

Burglary — About 3 p.m. Friday, a caller told deputies a $579 Visio flatscreen TV had been stolen from a house on Santiam Bluffs Road near Jefferson. There was an additional $200 in damage where the front door had been forced open.

No suspects.

Car stolen — About 10:50 a.m. Friday, a man in Brownsville called deputies to report a stolen vehicle. He said he was attempting to sell the maroon 1993 Honda Accord when a potential buyer took it for a test drive and never came back.

That was two weeks ago. The would-be buyer also changed his phone number.

The Accord had Oregon license plate 436 FAC. It was worth about $1,500.
