People arrested are innocent unless proven otherwise in court. Initial charges often change as a case progresses.

Albany Police

Generator theft — 1:57 p.m., 2100 block of Front Avenue N.E. A Honda generator worth $400 was stolen from the front porch of a residence sometime the previous night. The generator had been chained to the porch.

Boat motor theft — 3:16 p.m. Monday, 3600 block of Tudor Way S.E. A 9.9 horsepower Honda boat motor worth $2,650 was stolen from the side of a home the previous week.

Attempted vacuum theft — 6:42 p.m. Monday, Walmart. A caller advised that a subject damaged a door at Walmart while stealing a Dyson vacuum. The caller advised that the suspect has been hitting multiple Walmarts doing similar thefts.

Assault arrest — 9:05 p.m. Monday, Linn County Jail. Kyle Gene Stephens, 34, of Albany was lodged in jail on a charge of felony fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and violating a restraining order. His initial bail was set at $55,000.

Stolen drop box — 8:02 a.m. Tuesday, Les Schwab Tire Center. A City Delivery Service drop box at the business was reported stolen.

Lebanon Police

Attempted vacuum theft — 1:45 p.m. Monday, Walmart. A caller reported that a male tried to steal a Dyson vacuum and broke a fire door. The caller added that it was the second time in two days that the man has attempted to take the vacuum. A suspect vehicle description and a suspect description was provided to police.

Injury crash — 7:50 p.m. Monday, S. 12th Street and Oak Street. Jennifer Lee Howell, 34, was taken to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash, where a pickup and a Honda Accord collided. Howell was driving the Accord.

Oregon State Police

Fishing disorderly conduct — 4 p.m. Sunday, Timber-Linn Memorial Park angling pond. William Russel McDonald, 54, of Albany was arrested on a charge of second-degree disorderly conduct after witnesses said he tried to pick a fight with a person multiple times and caused a scene. He also chased off another male and his young son, according to witnesses.  

Sweet Home Police

Warrant arrest — 3:21 p.m. Sunday, 12th Avenue and Nandina Street. Officers responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch. Mark Leslie Haskins, 52, was arrested on charges of driving while suspended, providing false information to police, reckless driving, and a state parole board warrant.
