Missing phone — 8:42 a.m. Thursday, 1900 block of Marion Street. A caller reported the theft of a cellphone from a residence.
LINN COUNTY SHERIFF
Accident — At 7:12 a.m. Thursday, a caller reported that a vehicle attempted to pass another as it turned onto Old Bellinger Scale Road. Hunter Franco, 19, of Lacomb, told a deputy that he didn't see a turn signal and struck the side of a 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Tanner Garner, 36, of Lebanon. Franco was not wearing a seat belt. He was taken to Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital. Both vehicles were towed.
Stolen vehicle — 8:50 a.m. Thursday, 200 block of Smith St., Harrisburg. A 1998 Nissan Sentra reported missing from Springfield was recovered in a parking lot. The vehicle had reportedly been sitting in the lot for a couple of days.
Missing purse — 9:49 a.m. Thursday, 3000 block of Knox Butte Road. A caller reported a purse containing $400 had been taken from her home.
Stolen trees — 11:45 a.m. Thursday, 41000 block of McCully Road, near Scio. A caller reported that 12 big-leaf maple trees were illegally harvested from Bureau of Land Management property. Their estimated value was about $360.
Too fast — 5:59 p.m. Thursday, Peoria Road. A deputy cited Trevor Rowland for going 103 mph in 55 mph zone. Since he had a 3-year-old passenger, Rowland was also cited for reckless endangering. He was cited and released.
Who are you? — 6 p.m. Thursday, 33000 block of Highway 99, Tangent. A caller reported that a man pretending to be an employee at a local business walked into a first aid and CPR class. He left before law enforcement officials arrived. The case is under investigation.
Abandoned vehicle — At 11:10 p.m. Thursday, a vehicle tagged as "abandoned" in the area of Sixth and Juniper streets in Lyons was pushed to Juniper and Fifth. Its sticker had been scraped off and left in the street. The deputy affixed a new sticker.
Lead foot — 2:38 a.m. Friday, Interstate 5, near Harrisburg. A 17-year-old female was cited for driving 98 mph in a 65 mph zone. She was also cited for being a probational driver with a passenger in the vehicle.

Fence damage — 8:47 a.m. Thursday, 3000 block of Main St. A caller reported that the fence on the new City Hall property had been cut in three places.
Funny money — 11:52 a.m. Thursday, 6000 block of Main Street. A caller reported the use of counterfeit money.
LINN COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT
From Friday afternoon
Sex abuse – Christopher David Lyttle, 36, of Lebanon, was charged with second-degree sex abuse. The crime allegedly occurred on April 15, 2017.
Theft – Kristen Marie Rost, 27, of Boise, Idaho, was charged with first-degree theft, two counts of second-degree theft, second-degree burglary and second-degree criminal trespass. The crimes allegedly occurred in July 2016, with the burglary occurring off of Holley Road in the Sweet Home area. Camp Tadmor, between Sweet Home and Lebanon on McDowell Creek Drive, was the victim listed for one of the theft charges.
