The Rev. William “Ward” Murray, 92, of Albany, passed away at his home.

The son of Alfred and Florence (Armstrong) Murray, he was born in Riverside, California, and raised in Oakland, California, by Braden and Florence (Murray) Armstrong.

Ward and his wife Ruth served and represented the United Presbyterian Church for more than 50 years and touched the lives of many in California, Cameroon, southeast Alaska, England, West Virginia, Ohio, Oregon, and other places in between.

Ward is survived by his children, Carol, Mark, Morna, and Al; ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded by his wife, Ruth (Macdonald) Murray.

A 2 p.m. memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at the United Presbyterian Church of Albany. The service is open to all who knew him and shared in his life.
