William “Bill” Glace was born in 1924 in Allentown, Pennsylvania, the son of Reed and Ivy Glace. He grew up and attended school in Catasauqua, Pennsylvania.
After graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy and served during World War II in the Pacific. He returned home, met Ruth Schall and the couple was married in 1949 in Northampton, Pennsylvania.
He finished college and they moved to Albany in 1952, starting his teaching career. He taught mathematics at Calapooia Middle School until his retirement in 1988.
After retirement, he and Ruth traveled, enjoying spending time together with friends and family. He passed away unexpectedly January 26 with his loving wife Ruth at his side.
Bill was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
He is survived by wife, Ruth; daughter, Alice Scofield; sister Jessica Glotfelty; two granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.
A celebrations of life will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 8 at Faith Lutheran Church in Albany.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions to the Faith Lutheran Church Endowment Fund.
