Sharan Lee Byrd, 79, of Albany passed away Monday, January 22, 2018 at her home in Hospice Care.
Sharan was born in Eugene to William (Rusty) Prairie and Villa Belle McKay Prairie on September 30, 1938. Her mother passed away when Sharan was two years old. She was raised in the Eugene/Springfield area by her father and later with help from her aunt and uncle while her father was serving in World War II. She graduated from Springfield High School in 1956.
She married Ronald Hall on April 12, 1958. They had two sons, Tony and Rick. She stayed at home with her boys until they were in high school. They enjoyed many years together bowling, camping, and fishing. Sharan and Ron later divorced but have remained good friends.
She married Albert Byrd in 1985. Sharan worked a variety of part time and later full time jobs until her retirement in 2013.
After retirement, she enjoyed volunteering for the Meals on Wheels program. Sharan was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time in her yard.
Sharan is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Tony and Lona Hall of Lebanon, Rick and Sue Hall of Albany; seven grandsons; five great-grandchildren with three more on the way.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert in 2014.
At Sharan’s request, no service will be held. The family will celebrate her life later this summer when all of her grandchildren can be present.
