Peggy Irene Shroyer, 77, of Philomath, died Wednesday. Peggy, the youngest child of Theopolis O. and Josephine A. (Embry) Pointer, was born in Toppenish, Washington.
When she was a child, her family moved to Summit, Oregon and then later to Philomath. She graduated from Philomath High in 1958, where she met her husband of 59 years, Jim Shroyer.
Peggy enjoyed dancing, gardening, camping with family and friends, and spoiling her grandchildren.
Peggy is survived by her husband Jim; children, Symone and Scott of Philomath, Tara and her husband Ben of Albany; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Oliver and Charlie; and one sister, Roberta.
Funeral service will be 11a.m. on Friday, May 18 at College United Methodist Church in Philomath. Private family graveside will be at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Philomath.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages that donations in her name be made to the donor’s charity of choice.
