Elaine Miller, 63, of Albany passed away Thursday at her home after fighting breast cancer for 14 years.
Born in Staten Island, New York to Herman, Sr. and Mary (Higgins) Watson, Elaine was raised in Bayonne, New Jersey in a military family.
She moved to Albany in 1977 and worked for State Savings, then Timber Carnival, but her passion was art. And after marrying Dannis Miller in 1982 in Albany, she began raising her daughters and pursuing a career in art that spanned 30 years. She was known for many artistic talents including decorative painting and furniture restoration.
Elaine liked her garden and also had an eye for interior design. She and Dannis enjoyed traveling as well as day trips for wine tasting and social events with friends.
Elaine was a member of Albany St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Elaine is survived by her husband Dannis of Albany; daughters Alexa Battrick of Albany and Paige Silverston of Portland; and grandson Asher Battrick.
She was preceded in death by her brother Andrew.
A private family remembrance will be held at a later date.
