Lyle Modin, 88, of Albany, died Tuesday at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center.

Born in Boring, Oregon as one of five children to John and Dorothy (Lampert) Modin, Lyle was raised in Boring and then Newport.

He served in the US Navy, and then in the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1953.

He came to Albany in the early 1960’s and was a foreman with Pacific Power.

Lyle married Margaret “Peggy” Jacob September 30, 1953 in Newport. She preceded him in death in 2014.

Lyle was a member of Jefferson Baptist Church, the American Legion, and the VFW.

Lyle is survived by sons Steve of Klamath Falls and Gary of Colorado; daughter Linda Glender of Jefferson; six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

A service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday November 14 at the Willamette Memorial Park Chapel.
