Louise Irene Packard, 85, of Milwaukie died Aug. 31 in Milwaukie.

She was born in Chester, Neb., to Ernest and Louise Vorderstrasse. She graduated from Albany High School in 1945 and married David H. Packard on June 29, 1947, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Albany.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Portland. She enjoyed gardening, travel, reading and quilting.

Louise is survived by her husband, David H. Packard; son Michael and wife Julie; daughters Kathryn Haas and husband Larry, and Wanda Packard; brother Roger Vorderstrasse; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Casper Vorderstrasse.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Portland.
