Sept. 21, 1947 — May 7, 2012
John E. Sublette Jr., 64, died Monday.
John was born in Los Angele, Calif., to John E. and Irene (Barber) Sublette. Just before graduating high school in 1965, he enlisted in the Navy. He served four years and received an honorable discharge.
John lived in California and Oregon. He had six children between two marriages before he met his third wife, Cyrstal, in 1987; she had five small children. After much consideration, he decided to take in and raise these children as his own. He married Crystal on Nov. 19, 1988, in Portland.
John drove truck for 26 years all across the United States and into Canada hauling just about every-thing. In 1992, he survived a truck accident, but since that time was plagued with one illness after an-other. He still managed to work until 2002.
He enjoyed working on cars, spending time with his children and grandchildren, and going on trips. He loved music and enjoyed helping others.
John is survived by his mother, Irene Sublette; brother William Sublette; sister Nancy Sublette; wife Crystal Sublette; and children Patrick Sublette, Tiffany Hanson, Kim Sublette, Tammy Johnson, John Sublette III, Jason Sublette, Truman Sublette, Brittney Headley, Alisa Sublette, Alisha Sublette, Linda Sublette, Daniel Sublette, Troy Sublette and John Sublette III (there are two).
He was preceded in death by his father, John E. Sublette.
A funeral was held Wednesday.
