Jeri was born to Charles Paul Korman and Velva Alma Johnson (Whitney) Korman in Lakin County, Kansas. Her younger years were spent on a family farm near Payette, Idaho.

Jeri acquired and honed her tenacity, compassion and work-ethic, surviving amid a hard-working family of 10 brothers and sister, gleaning an existence in depression-weathering years. In those early days, hunting and fishing fulfilled her adventuresome energy and spirit.

Jeri married Lloyd Samuel Hitchcock, a quality home builder, of Corvallis in 1960. Sam died July2, 1993.

Survivors include sister, Bernice Nation; daughter, Susan Arnold; granddaughter, Samantha Reed; and very close friends, William Moyer, Pulo Mahn and Marjorie Mahn.

Jeri literally gave of her time and skills delivering always-welcome, kitchen-crafted, “from scratch” pastries to so many appreciative neighbors at incidents of the neighboring family’s crises.

For more than 50 years, Jeri shared her proved, practical cooking and sewing skills to eager, attentive, appreciative 4-H Club members.

Jeri assured Pastega House was adequately funded and physically supported by the Corvallis community.

Jeri was justifiably proud judging 4-H Food and Textile Projects exhibited annually in County Fairs throughout Oregon. Over the years, fellow judges sought her as a Resource Leader.

Jeri relished later years pursuing travels throughout the United Sates, coast to coast.

Jeri emphatically made a difference and will be sadly missed!
